This page contains photos of removing the thrust bar from a P&M GT450 912ULS and then removing the cylinder 2 and 4 inlet manifold from a ROTAX 912ULS engine (built August 2006).

Here we can see the P and M Aviation thrust bar bolted to the rear of the gearbox housing. This needs to be removed at some point. No time like the present!

Undo the four bolts attaching the thrust bar to the rear of the gearbox housing.

Slide the thrust bar out and put it on a parts tray ready for cleaning etc.

The manifold balancing tube needs to be disconnected from the inlet manifold for cylinders 1 and 3. It can then be removed still attached to the inlet manifold for cylinders 2 and 4.

For ease of disassembly it can stay attached this end.

Discconnect it this end.

If the carbs haven't been balanced for some time it can take the application of some gentle heat (with an electric heat gun) to soften the rubber hose before sliding it off the manifold elbow. It is common to have to slide the hose clip clear well clear of the end of the balance tube hosing before the hose will release ...
