Remove the two bolts that secure the coolant inlet elbow to the main water pump housing. Notice the three different position the elbow can be bolted in - this gives 6 different elbow configurations (if you rotate it thu 180 degrees) so a fair amount of installation flexibility is offered by this arrangement.
